St. Augustine, like Tampa on the west coast, was also pretty famous for their cigar makers.

Someone, I won’t name them but it starts with a Z, has posted Mel Wacks counterstamps and has piqued my interest.
This arrived today commemorating Pope John Paul II visit to America with a mintage of 1,979.

 

Posted this in another thread, but here it is here! A sterling 5 Mark casino token from Casino Baden celebrating it's 200th anniversary.

 

What's amazing about Mr. Wacks work is how deep he gets his counterstamps with minimal distortion to the other side.

Akron Coin Club--34mm, 12.6 grams, M/A, bronze It was nice finding a club medal from Ohio. Seems like everything on Ebay is from Ca. or Pa.

You're right, lomgnine, Pa and Ca clubs were by far the biggest issuers of exonumia. I have hundreds of pieces from all over the US, but a large number come from those two states.
