Nice list! My favorites are the Hadrian as ( the patina and cracks work nicely with the portrait), the Maximinus II (great Apollo), and the Philip I.
Great set of coins! I love the minerals on the cash coin! It's coin collecting and rock collecting all in one package. How did you score the Maximinus at such a low price? That coin would cost ten times as much on vcoins.
I managed to get it somehow mixed in a large lot of a couple dozen AE4s of Constantius, Constans, and some commemoratives. My jaw dropped pretty hard when I saw it, as it was pretty hidden in the auction pic!
You had quite a year of bargain-hunting, @hotwheelsearl! I like the well-worn Caracalla with the smooth patina, the Maximinus and the Philip/Tyche! Great deals on all of them!
Hey now... stay in your lane! My favorite is the Sardes Caracalla. Love those big bronzes with uniform wear! Other faves: anonymous civic issue with Tyche and Apollo ("Maximinus II") and the Philip I tet. The Northern Song 10 cash is lovely. Congrats on a good year .
I appreciate your appreciation of the Caracalla. Lots of folks walk over worn coins, but I feel like they tell more of a story
If you write a vcoins dealer and offer a lower amount and it is accepted, they can mark it "sold" without changing the price to the actual price. So, the apparent price of a "sold" item may not be the actual price.
