Seeing eyes rolling as I write this. look at the pictures and weights I have had these over 15 years and after retirement FINALLY pulling them out to enjoy. NOW question is where should I get them slabbed? PCGS? Is one choice what ya think? PLEASE look over the pictures and ask questions. Yeah I got alot of goodies lol
Nice stuff. I'd go PCGS, if you sell they'll be the best return. Or save some money and go ANACS. They are great with varieties and errors.
IMO, You're primarily looking for authentication. Grading is secondary. ANACS used to be pretty good at authenticating errors, so if that hasn't changed, they might be a good cost effective alternative
ANACS is less expensive but you’ll get a lower sale price than PCGS if you sell them. It will cost more and take longer but PCGS will probably be better.
IMO, I don't think the holder makes a difference for error coins as long as the TPG has a reputation for accurate authentication and attribution. Grading is another matter and I agree that certain TPGs will be discounted by the market, but is an error specialist concerned that an off metal error is not market graded correctly and is off a point or two? Do they care if it can get a CAC green bean? And due to the irregular nature of errors, can the grading standards be as precise as regular coins? I believe the value of slabbed errors is in the attribution, not the grade. Just my opinion
wow thanks Guys you are top of your game. where's ole' bubble popper? I need your input too. Do you need to be a member of the other grading services to submit to them? I am a member of PCGS already.
Congrats on a couple of great finds. Everything looks good for your attribution. Weight, edge shot of no copper core, missing details "over" the rim, etc.
My instant impression was PMD, but upon further examination, having them authenticated may be worth the money spent. Let us know the outcome.
so many doubters (even on here and you can't blame them) and if you was buying wouldn't you prefer PROOF of what they are?
the scale and seeing the coins is proof enough for me, but slabbed coins add to and sometimes mutiply the price, have seen it time and again at ha and great collections, personally i prefer raw (less expensive) so i can get deals while other people are scared...
