Hello CoinTalk friends, These are (my new) Ancient Coins #16 and #17 in my collection. You guys know more than I do about these so all comments/posts are welcome! Gordian III, AD 238-244 Jovian, AD 363-364 Had the shortest rule of all the Emperors? Once again thanks to @LaCointessa for gifting these Ancients to me.
Nice ones @paddyman98 Jovian had a short rule but was by no means the shortest. Not 100% sure who the shortest rule belongs to, but Quintillus ruled for somewhere between 17 and 177 days. Quintillus AE Antoninianus Obverse: IMP C M AVR CL QVINTILLVS AVG, Radiate, draped, cuirassed bust right Reverse: VICTORIA AVG, Victory walking right, holding wreath and palm. Γ in right field
The first name that came to mind was Quintillus! Of course a few folks like Silbannacus and whoever might have had lesser reigns...
