Any year after 1943 would be possible to have a wrong planchet error on a 1943 planchet. Usually comes about from planchets getting caught in a box which then gets re-used.

A Mint Error such as that is not weird.
To me it would be Outstanding! :jawdrop:

I love those kinds of errors.

I have a common Nickel struck on Copper Cent Planchet. Much cheaper at $200.00 - $300.00

In 1944 the Philadelphia Mint used up its leftover 1943 steel cent planchets to strike Belgium 2 Francs coins. That is one possible explanation for any 1944-P steel cents and this coin.

And it is also possible that a few leftover cent planchets just got stuck in hoppers and had nothing to do with the Belgian strikings.
