I bought two coins last week and got a pretty good deal I thought. The coins weren't the best condition but good enough to add to a ongoing series collection. I received the coins today, opened the package and found both coins in the same 1.5 x 1.5 paper slip. Jingle jingle all the way. I'm sure now that some sellers just don't care that things like this makes buyers not come back.

Hope you left comments on the seller's page. Some people that aren't serious collectors have no clue. I had a similar issue and the guy got mad at me for making the comment, but I bet he took more care after that.

Does eBay even allow negative feedback?

clearly that seller is not a collector and just a seller by the way he packs coins he sells to collectors. I wouldn't buy from them again based on that. not sure if it's worth leaving a bad feedback or a comment on him about it, but probably worth sending him a heads up email for the future of his business, that collectors don't like receiving coins packaged the way you got it. out there on him where everyone can see it... bad juju in my opinion, it might not have been intentional and just didn't know better.

No idea what you paid or what the shipping cost was or if he made a profit or a loss, that could all be a factor in the cheaply done packaging also though.

Regardless of how you choose to respond to this irresponsible, negligent, or ignorant shipment/packaging of your coins, I consider the seller's packaging methods to be inexcusable. It displays an uncaring and disrespectful attitude towards you and your property. OTOH, if it was due to ignorance, then why is this person dealing in collectible coins? A question for reflection, maybe.

If you desire to conduct future business with this person, then contact them on the QT to give them a diplomatic heads-up. If you won't do future business with them, give them a negative feedback.

For my part, I would never do business with them again and would slam them as much as I could. If it was intentional, they absolutely deserve it. If due to ignorance, then they need to learn some hard lessons about the market they are purportedly serving.

As in, "buyers can leave negative feedback for sellers, but sellers can leave only positive feedback for buyers." That change came while I was on hiatus from selling. It was a BIG shock, and I never did get back into much selling.

I can leave feedback as soon as I receive the coin as long as it is positive. I have to wait 7 days from receipt to make any negative feedback. In the mean time, I sent the buyer a message thanking them for being so efficient with the shipping method.

It really is a dumb policy especially since sellers cant even leave negative comments even if theyre truthful. The pendulum swung way to far in the buyers favor. Dunno why they never figured out they wont be Amazon unless they want to do all the work and there wont be buyers when sellers dont list but it seems they just want the massive sellers so their choice

They make it hard to leave negative feedback. I’ve been on the Bay for nearly 20 years and it has been going down hill rapidly. And I’m not saying that because I’m a crotchety old man.
