Misaligned digit error?

Hey guys, so I've been paying closer attention to my FNR's since the ghost note I posted not long ago.

I got this in my change today and noticed the last digit of the serial number in the upper right is slightly out of alignment with the rest of them. It's in pretty good condition but I couldn't find a lot of information about this. Pretty sure I just don't know where to look, lol

Is this worth keeping or is it something common and just worth $1?

If I found it, I would keep it. It’s not worth much over face value, but it’s just a dollar and kinda cool.

This is fairly common, no premium unless way out of alignment. Still a nice note

Good eye and it's a keeper for the price.

The numbering did not shift completely. When I was a printer this happened some with our vertical lift and offset units.

Not a premium note to most collectors, and a fairly common find, so I'd spend it if I came across it, but maybe that's just me.

Not worth a lot over face but I’d certainly add it to my collection. It sure looks clean and crisp.

This happens when the printing wheels that make up the serial number do not advance properly. Aside from high and low digits, you can also find half of one digit and half of another.

The serial number wheels getting out of sync is the cause of most mismatched serial numbers.

I'd keep it, too, nice find.

I'd keep it (only costs you a dollar) but wouldn't expect much of a premium over face (if any) as most notes labelled "error" must be far more dramatic.

Here is a photo of a misaligned digit in the serial number where the previous and next digit are visible. A true “gas pump” error. FB014738-7599-4E42-A2FC-FC95D15B62A9.jpeg B5272425-B9C0-4913-B8A0-36E8943483AF.jpeg

    Is that 7 & 8? Nice note.

I would put it in my currency folder. It's different, interesting, and a keeper. Thanks for sharing it.

I think it is a 6 on top and a 7 on the bottom. Not positive.

Wouldn't you think it should match the corresponding s/n on the left side of the note? Hence, 7 and 8? ;)

Your explanation is more feasible. I bow to your determination of 7 and 8.
