That isn't a cud Cuds do not have any design details.
It looks like a struck thru compacted grease.
Also why is the Copper plating pealing?
Maybe I am just having a hard time reading the photos.

The copper is not peeling. It is all solidly intact. I did weigh it. It's 2.5 grams. I can't find anything that looks like it to reference from. Thanks for the reply. Should I try to get a better picture?

First, how do you know this is from 2000 or afterwards? The mint started making these in 1982.

Next, they have a thin copper coating and from the photos it appears to me that either the copper coating is peeling or this is some sort of a lamination on a copper coated zinc planchet, something I have not seen.

Try taking a couple more photos from different angles and lighting. Since I’ve never seen this before I’m concerned about the coin looking copper, being copper on zinc and a large piece missing. Some of the design is faintly there.

    And lastly, welcome to CT.

Didn't the Mint start making the Shield Cent in 2010?

Now. I can see that it is raised.
The details of lincolns jacket, a partial date, and rim detail, says that this is IMO a pre cud. Post 2010

You may be correct. I’m at my antique shop so not totally focused on coins. The last four days I sold over $600.00 and nothing was $30.00. Lots to do before Black Friday and the weekend. Good thing we’re closed.
