There is a straight line extending down from The O mint mark on my 82 Morgan. Any help on what this is? Thanks in advance for any help. I'm assuming from the pictures supplied, that the 'mark' is incuse, in which case it is damage, taken a solid hit from who knows what...

    We call it scratch damage.

It’s PMD. The contact started in the O and headed to the rim.

Post Mint Damage, meaning what you see was caused after the coin left the mint. Something caused that scratch. I can see metal pushed to both sides of the gouge.

It may not be what you wish but all Morgan's are keepers, in my opinion. Seal it, show it, enjoy it. Thanks for sharing it.

Sorry to hear that. I can only guess on the emptiness you might feel when going through your collection alone now. Good luck on future endeavors.

Sorry to hear this and I wish you the best in whatever you decide to do. I understand your feelings but I’d like to ask one question and I mean no disrespect. I know it would be hard to collect without her but have you asked yourself if this is something she would agree to? I can’t help but think that she would want to you to continue in coin collecting without her. It was something you both enjoyed.
