Thanks to all that showed their affection to a coin dedicated to a man that served his country well, if only for a short time.

    I've seen the HALF DOLLAR.
    Not a full dollar.

This year I thought I would buy a roll each of uncirculated p and D mint half dollars. Now I hear they are being released to banks for circulation at face value... 20210518_153257~4.jpg

Instead of clogging up the Mint Vaults it's better to release them. Not all sold out in other wards.

From a mint set but not anything of a SMS like the typical 65-67 sets, it's the best MS Kennedy I have and much better than my photo...pretty sure would grade 65 or better. Used to think 67-68, but that's when I hadn't looked at it for many years...I'm realistic. 1970-D Kennedy 50c Obv.jpg 1970-D Kennedy 50c Rev.jpg

Accented hair is a proof coin with the marker being the bottom crossbar of the I in LIBERTY, the left serif is missing.
The 1964 SMS were struck from a single pair of dies, the major marker being a teardrop shaped die mark under the crosslet of the 4

The accented hair is a proof issue only. The SMS deal was by the mint director and all '64 SMS coins were in her possession and if you don't have provenance of the coin coming from her estate, you don't have a 64 Kennedy SMS. Sorry 0 for 2 on these.

Some folks never dream that good.

For me, it's a reoccurring reality.

Daniel Carr creation. Overstrike of a 40% silver Eisenhower.
