About 2-3 weeks ago I posted and thanked my wife for a finding in her change a common date Wheat Ear Cent. Last Wednesday she gave me this coin she found in her change. 7D0AE326-7A0F-4844-9D6C-A38BD4D91A14.jpeg 5B311300-6438-4651-A10C-EA5C73990890.jpeg
Another common date Wheat Ear which I wasn’t going to post. Then yesterday she gives me this. I asked where she got it and her reply was “At the store. As soon as I saw it I asked the cashier if she had any more just like it.” She said the girl looked through her drawer but didn’t see any. This is a 1928-S. It’s worn and a little dinged up but it’s a bit rarer than a common date as there is a slight premium on the date.

    She’s doing really well.

I think with the pandemic and a lot of people out of work made folks empty piggy banks.

A wheat penny saved is two or three penny's earned. (Updating Ben Franklin)

With times being tough for many, I think they are breaking into their penny jars and spending them. Always fun to find an old (pre-1950) coin in circulation.

Yeah but my wife is the one finding them. She’s just gives them to me. And the nice thing is, she doesn’t ask for another penny to replace it. Lol

Too bad you can't buy today what is was worth when it was minted. The 1948 would buy 12 cents worth today and the 1928, 15 cents worth. Guess I should turn in the jar of coins from accumulated pocket change and buy a few gold coins.
