I'm a lot lost. 26 years ago was 1995, so that's not it... Did the OP rescue this coin in Canada and bring it back to the states?
Okay: It took a bit, but I think I got it: I got my Canadian quarter. So, he was in Canada, or somewhere, and got this quarter, which was in Canada, and brought it back 'home' to the US after "26 years". Actually 36 years, subtraction is taught in grammar school.
