I realize that we have a ways to go before 2021 wraps up... ...but I decided to put together a virtual still life featuring this year’s Roman coins. Most of these were purchased this year. The excellent Trajan didrachm, ex: @Orfew collection, and the outstanding Antoninus Pius sestertius, ex: @John Anthony collection, I was fortunate to have in my collection already. Thanks to all of you for the inspiration! Feel free to post your recent Romans.
@Deacon Ray Very nice. My favorite is the smallest coin, with the orange and green patina. What is the denomination of that coin? Is it Antoninus Pius?
Thanks @Deacon Ray I like your new OP photo, with the coin descriptions. Of course, your new OP photo, rendered my question obsolete. But that's okay. Thanks for answering my question anyway. I also liked your original OP photo, with the sword. I wouldn't mind seeing your original OP photo again, in a separate post, in this thread, just for fun.
@Deacon Ray P.S. : I'm amazed, that you were able to edit your OP at 5:40 am today, after having initially posted your OP at 4:36 pm yesterday. I'm not angry about it, or anything. I'm just slightly curious about it. Whenever I post something, I'm usually given approximately 2 hours to edit the post, before the post becomes permanent. Is there a trick, that I don't know about? Or do you have a special superpower?
Way to go DR! Look at all those beauties! And all "good guys". Maybe next year you can collect the nasties. Get a grouping of Caligula, Nero, Domitian, Commodus and Constantine
Thank you, @sand but I have no special power LOL When I joined CoinTalk back in 2016 there was a much shorter window of time where you could edit a post but the kind folks who operate this site have generously extended that time frame.
Lovely additions! I enjoy that Trajan tet and the AP sestertius. Will some of these additions end up in your top 10?
That Hadrian is amazing! Lovely coins and displays as always. I’ll never forget when you sent me those coins when I was starting out, @Bing helped me out as well! Hope you can get some more awesome Romans by the end of the year and into next year.
