I recently purchased a larger lot of coins and within this lot I came across this lot! 28 almost consecutive dates missing a few that break the link all starting at 1826. If anyone has good references for the Newcomb varieties that may break it down Barney style for a beginner I’d much appreciated it. I have been wanting to learn the large cents but have not had many to do so, looks like my opportunity has changed a bit here! Pretty nice grades for the most part and still in good condition being found in a storage container for who knows how long! -Travis
This appears to be the subject of @Paddy54's post. Looks pretty "spendy" if you ask me. (Though I'm sure it's indispensable if you're a die variety geek, which I am definitely not.)
Everyone knows the geeks always win simply because the same reason you stated! Did you find it on accident or did you spot it on the bay?
Hey paddy any other sources could only find one book on Amazon is there any basic sites or digital books not hard copies you can think of? I may fork over the change for this book but need something until then!
It’s an awesome find I can’t lie, especially because it came in a larger lot and didn’t even really know that this was in it. The gentleman also had the almost complete 3 cent nickels set as well as the 2 cent pieces, I was pleasantly surprised at the least.
