Someone at work gave me this dollar note, missing the green treasury seal. I know "zero" about notes... any value to this?

If it's authentic...meaning someone didn't erase/remove the seal after printing, then it's probably worth around $100-$150

I've checked it uner lights and 10x magnification... no signs of tampering. What I want to know.. isn't the green (treasury seal and serial numbers) applied at the same time?

I believe so. Errors like this typically occur due to some type of obstruction.

This can be caused by a foreign object on the surface blocking the seal from printing to the surface of the bill. Check for a depression where the seal should have been. The blocking material then can fall of after printing, would have been nice if what blocked the printing was still attached. Nice find. :)-O)
