i would like your opinion on this 2017-p shield cent clash

from what overlays show, this does not seem right, can a clash "shift", or is this some kind of vise job..thinking of bidding/buying this, please let me know what you guys think, thanks

Nice die clash.

 

They are upside down on the obverse not reversed. If the two dies struck each other with no planchet in-between, the impression left on the obverse die would look like that.

 

Reversed and upside-down don't mean the same thing,ok.

I generally hate shield cents but I love how the clashes on them look. Have yet to find one in circulation though.

Yeah it's real. I don't see why it wouldn't be.
When the dies clash, they don't always hit exactly opposite where they would be on the coin.

thanks for the help, had a high start price in auction, just wanted to be sure...i have a bunch of these where just one to 3 lines are showing, this one more pronounced..
