Jumping in late here. Frank, hold your ground on this one. Its obvious that this is NOT the same coin. I had something similar happen to me a while back. I was selling Adams errors and this guy says that its not what is in the picture. I pride myself in taking and making sure the picture matches the auction, but accidents do happen. I told this person to send me the coin back and I would refund every cent he paid. I got back a Washington Smoothie. I emailed him and he said he wondered what happened to that coin it was supposed to go back to another ebay seller. DOH... I sent him the damaged Washington back and life was good. We actually still email back and forth once in a while now and talk about finds. New cyber friend. This one of yours is blatant from what I have read here. He had something that sold for more than he thought it should of so he had it checked out and found that he had made a serious error. (PUN) Good eye on that auction Frank, keep up the good work and like I said, stick with this one.
Man, can't believe I missed this one. Ebay is just becoming bad news. Sure, there are a lot of good sellers, but it is turning out there are more bad than good. I am sorry to hear you never recieved it Frank, I was getting excited for you when you told me about it. But, atleast you still have the photos, and if the coin ever went up for sale again, then the error community can be warned about him. Real sad this had to happen around Christmas also, but atleast you will hopefully get this straitened out. If it was me, I probably would more push for the coin than the refund, but I don't know how you could really at this point. Merry Christmas, and best of luck getting this straitened out. :thumb: Phoenix
If this is the case, I'll file also. Thanks for the heads up and the legwork on this one. Seller has a history and nobody knew because everybody did what I did, put head in the sand. Right on......lets get this handled the responsible way. I'm with ya.
Hey Coin Talk Folks, I received my refund back to my PayPal Account from the Seller that switched the coin on me and the PayPal Dispute was closed. I weighed heavily the consequences of filing Negative Feedback against him but did so as I believe that it was deserved by him. Besides, I think that other eBayers need to know what this guy is about! If he retaliates by filing Negative Feedback against me, then I will deal with it through eBay's Dispute Console. My worry is that he will probably behave himself for sometime and when the Negative Feedback gets buried in pages and pages and pages of Feedback, he will start his old habits all over again! I will be watching his' Auctions with an Eagle's eye for some time. Frank
Glad everything worked out for you Frank. This is exactly why I am reluctant to buy coins from ebay or online altogether.
Sorry about your troubles Frank and glad you got your money back. But I was watching that auction and almost bid myself. I still wish there was a way (and I do not mean by using the search features) to put in a list of sellers whose auctions I never want to see - period. Then ebay could search on this list of blocked sellers - maybe if enough people blocked auctions E-bay would do something. Oh well!
I filed Negative Feedback against the Seller for the transaction and as expected, he filed Negative Feedback against me in retaliation! I am currently trying to get eBay to remove the Negative feedback against me but don't hold much hope! I pretty much laid out exactly what happened with the transaction from beginning to end, so they have enough proof to go by. If they want more, then I have it! I have the pictures from the Auction, pictures of the coin that I received, pictures of the package the coin came in and I have two witnesses (the Postal Clerk and the U.S. Postmaster) that will sign statements. Frank
That really stinks, I clicked on the link and they removed it so that it may not be viewed. Good luck!
Sorry, I didn't even look at the date, I'm a newbie and I was just browsing while I was hoping someone was responding to my post. Sue
