I'm not sure if the seller made a mistake with these coins but he neglected to state the years contained. I messaged him earlier today and he let me know there were "3-1922S,D&P-VF..8-1923 all BU..1-1923S XF..1-1925S XF..2-1926S,D VF..1-1927S AU..1-1934S AU For a total of 17." I paid roughly $18 a coin. If anything is wrong I can return them, he offers a 7 day return. I need some of the coins to fill in my Dansco Album. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220547134087&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
As long as they aren't a group of whizzed coins, I'd say you got a pretty good deal. Can't see much detail in those pics.
Just a sanity check. How did you get $315? I calculated it at about $220. With silver at $16.50 a silver dollar is worth $12.76 in bullion. $12.76 x 17 = $216.92 But no matter. The OP got his money's worth if there's no cleaning problems.
I'll take pictures when I get them so the guys here can help me decide if they been altered. I didnt realize the 34-S is worth a nice penny in decent condition.
I have to agree with Lugia, you go into a dealer your not gonna pull coins like these for less then $17 each.
Note that the original statement was "the silver content alone is almost worth 315". That's referring to bullion value which is what I was quoting in my response. I agree, barring cleaned coins, that you will never acquire those coins for at amount. The $315 is much closer to the truth.
