I definitely bought this 1798 large cent today. Although I’m not sure why? I suppose it’s because it’s an 18th century US coin and I don’t think I had any before this (although on the drive home I started thinking I might have another 1798 large cent). It’s in rough shape but seems to have some reasonable detail under the damage. Plus the date is crystal clear which I thought was nice. I know exactly nothing about these early cents. Below are pics of the OBV and REV. I know a handful of folks here know A LOT about these. Any information you guys can provide is appreciated. Finally, I’m glad I bought the coin and feel good about what I paid but I generally check eBay as a quick price guide. There appears to wide ranges in price for coins that look very similar in condition to my untrained eyes. Any estimates on a reasonable price / value are appreciated as well. In anyone is interested I paid $30 for it. thanks and enjoy.
