It took me many years of collecting before I finally broke down and got coins of these two. The Pupienus was part of a lot of silver coins, so by selling off some of the duplicates in that lot I was able to reduce its cost. Very nice! One thing I noticed with these two is that their coins don't go up in price exponentially between gF and XF, so as they say "go big or go home" Spotted these two in the same CNG sale; wallet took a heckuva sting that day As an added bonus, their Caesar
I tend to be skeptical when I see rare emperors that look too good to be real. Is this a sloppily filed casing seam that I see on the edge of your Balbinus? I sure hope that I'm mistaken!
Please do not be offended, but what bothers me about the Balbinus is the bit of silver between the fore finger and the ring finger. Should that be there? (A correction is more than welcome. )
