I received a survey yesterday from the Mint through email conducted by Naxion. Has anybody else received and completed the questionnaire?

Here's the body of the email:

    United States Mint Survey
Coronavirus has created anxieties, uncertainties, and challenges for so many of us. Even (and perhaps especially) during these challenging times, it is important to continue to conduct research about many different topics. We, at the United States Mint, Department of the Treasury, hope this invitation comes at a moment when you feel you can comfortably participate in our survey, and we want to extend a very special thanks for doing so.

NAXION, an opinion research company in Philadelphia, is conducting this survey on our behalf to identify how we can improve the products and services offered by the U.S. Mint. This is a research survey only. We have nothing to sell.

We would appreciate your participation in this brief and interesting survey. The survey is strictly voluntary, exclusively for research, not sales, and all responses will be kept completely anonymous. It should require about 10-15 minutes of your time. If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reply to this e-mail.

Link to survey was here. I removed the link because I believe it might have imbedded personal data.

The deadline for participation in the survey is November 22nd, 2021.

I've done them before. Got this one too. Deleted.

I wish I ran a marketing company that sold survey's to corporations. It astounds me that so much emphasis is put on these things.... Ten to fifteen minutes of my time? Not even a remote chance.

Lots of sections for you to write in your detailed response.

I wrote directly to the US Mint after a very frustrating attempt to purchase their products. They replied, basically saying "too bad."
What happened in my case was that after successfully buying a coin and putting it in the cart (or "bag" as they call it), I was not able to immediately pay for the coin. It still showed being in my "bag" but I could not complete the transaction.
Here are the actual words from the US Mint in their reply to me:

"If the product sells out or becomes unavailable while the product is in your bag and your order is still pending, a coin will not be available when you subsequently attempt to complete the checkout process, as occurred in your case."

My guess is their sales suck and they want to know why.
It looks like they're blaming the vid for their problems. From my perspective, it's the piss poor designs and terrible service, not to mention, just like ever other government organization they're bowing to the woke hucksters out there where everything has to be about race and gender instead of actual history and art.

I stopped buying from the mint two years ago and I still get text and snail mail from them. I delete text and throw away mail, end of story!

Thanks for the post but I've given up on the Mint. My modern collections ended last year and I am good with that. With no need to order there is no need to try to get them to listen to my one voice. Maybe getting beat up on every week in Numismatic News will turn their heads but I kind of doubt it. What we need or you need is a real coin collector appointed to this position.

This is a joke, isn't it? When did the U.S.Mint care what we think? In September, I bought the 2021 Gold Horse coin, and it sits in my orders, saying "Backordered". I've never bought a coin that was "Backordered", so I wait, and I wait and I wait....
Anybody else have a coin that is "Backordered"?

I would of bitch at them for trying to pass off those W cents that were all bad proofs or something. Quality Control. They should of fired the Mint Director for trying to slid them ( first W cents ) through

You'd think at some point marketing "geniuses" would figure out people would be more likely to do 3-5 3 minute surveys throughout the year than one 10-15 minute one.

Their sales have been incredible actually. The problem is that this year had an unusually large amount of products with the ASE/AGE design change giving two of everything and then the first year of the Morgan Peace series which means the sales are on pace to tank next year compared to this year. Their will only be one ASE/AGE design next year which will have lost some luster not being the first of the new change, the Morgans/Peace won't be as special not being the first, the quarters have designs that aren't really exciting anyone etc.

They're going to really have to get creative next year to even come close to the sales they had this year.

Backordered happens all the time and has done so for years. This year has had an unusually large amount of products. Now that pretty much everything is done for the year it should be coming soon and is likely they're having a hard time with sourcing planchets or dont like whats been being produced so far

I'm immediately turned off by a proposal that leads off with an excuse. Skeptical of surveys in general, as I believe most have pre-determined results.

Thank you for this information. I've contacted the Mint with no response.

Interesting statement from the mint, even if I have to agree with it.

Actually I bought my first coin from the mint since 1975 Monday. Got a law enforcement museum dollar in Unc. I seriously doubt I would be able to pick it up in the aftermarket for less than issue price like I have most all the others. It's been on sale all year and the mintage still hasn't broken 9,000 yet. It is currently the lowest mintage modern comm dollar by close to 4,000 coins.
