Found this morning. It's in really bad shape. I think the die used for it was in pretty bad shape also. Found it's twin brother on Cuds on Coins.

Nice! Cuds on Coins may like to see your photograph of your specimen.

it's a shame it was dinged up so badly. Nice find it might be a slightly earlier die state of the die crack, the one on C-o-Cs looks a bit more defined to me above the ear area, a bit more cracked.

    Nice find.

Original die crack yes, no to cuds in my opinion. A lot of PMD on both sides of the coin. Wow to the crack, it's a keeper. Thanks.

Lamination in my opinion, not a die crack, but that's just me.

Hi MM - you mean this part outlined by red? Looks like it may be retained lamination that runs into a die crack? I like your idea. There IS something going on there and I was wondering why Cuds on Coins did not show that part of their SKH-1c-2007-04 coin.

Yes. I would say the entire area, from rim to the ear was a lamination problem in the planchet.

From what I can see in the photos,
there's a die crack coming down at 12:00,
and a die chip in his hair, above his ear,
    going up.

    Not a lamination, imo

Is it possible to have both? I took these images tonight. It looks like a die crack to the first chip and then the crack to the second larger chip and from there to a lamination error?
