As I continue to open all these closed boxes and unopened envelopes from the past years I keep discovering coins that I forgot I had. This is one of them, a 2013 Mount Rushmore National Memorial 3-coin ATB Quarter Set. All original of course. 1 each P and D mint Uncirculated and 1 Proof S. I turned them sideways for a slightly better view.
The best part of being disorganized is finding cool stuff you forgot you had. Went through a box the other day and found an Apollo 11 dollar that I don’t remember buying.
Nice. I had received all of them from the mint in those packages. I removed the coins as they were and left them in the capsules. Then I bought plain CAPS pages to build a set in an album. The mint used at least 3 different capsules so it was difficult, but I made it happen. A photo of part of the set is attached.
That’s a nice looking set from what I can see. I only bought a few of the sets, the ones that have a little more meaning to me.
That's the way we need to be. But, I think they all had some meaning to me. I think I had at least one grandchild or great grandchild born in each of those years. So, I bought 2 of each. Gave one to the appropriate child and put that set together with the rest. Perhaps I should put a better photo group together to show the set.
I recently looked through some boxes I haven't opened in years, and low and behold, a gold $2.50 and a Carson City Morgan (or two) I'd forgotten all about! (among a bunch of other neat stuff - why do I have a 1905 Indian Head Penny NGC MS61 Brown? Where did I get these capped bust halves? Neato!) What a fun bunch of stuff to rediscover! I have a lot more to dig through too! What is the whole "net" MS60 grade thing? Is that just an ANACS thing? Anyone else have any fun finds lately?
