Hey all, I got a Fifty 1950E Start Note from the Bank the other day..
Being that my Currency book is So old..
I wanted to get a rough range of Value... So looked up what silly Prices
    are being paid on Ebay..
I couldn't Find any New York Notes.. Found many other 1950 $50 Star notes..
Some of the Prices were nuts..
This would be a Circulated Bill.. Not Bad.. No pin holes..
Can someone give me a Price range for these..?? I was thinking maybe a few extra bucks on it.. ebay selling for 2x to 3x..(?? odd)

    SN B 02730336 * 1950E

( I know without pictures not much you can say.. but I am just looking for a Price range.. so??? ...)

that badboy is pretty beat. you might be able to get 2-3X face(which isnt to bad). the new york note is the lowest priced out of the 3 districts that were printed for the 1950 E series. still a great find at face value. :thumb:

I would think you could do better then 2x face, Based on the prices
    In the bank note reporter!

Your all very helpful.. I am new to strap searching.. This was a lucky find..
I have no clue as to grade.. ? Fine?
What kind of Prices does the "BANK NOTE REPORTER" give.. and do you still go by your grade as F+.

I am hoping to get 2 Bills at my Local shop.. they have been haunting me.. Can't get them out of my mind.. Hoping he will trade...

Based on the scans you have provided, I still stand by F+ but hear
Again someone else may have another opinion, They always do..LOL
Self grading is highly subjective, Thats why i always deal in TPG,S
Because its hard to argue the grade there, What it is, Ia what it is!

Becareful when dealing with your local coin shop they tend to grade it
    Well below what its worth!!

As a collector of New York notes, looking at this notes condition, you will be lucky to get 2x face for it. Banknote reporter is not a accurate guide for current pricing. Now if that were gem, it would be a different story.

In current condition I would expect no more than $80 to $100. There are hard paper breaks in that note with edge damage heavy circulation and wear.

You would need to find someone wanting a note in this condition in my opinion. Not to be difficult, just being straight up with you.
I wish you luck and nice find for face.

    Regards,

    Thank you Very much!!
I want as much info as Poss.. so Thanks.. I would hate to look like a fool asking WAY too much for it..
Like selling a 1969S Roll on Ebay for 150K Like some wacko seller.. lol
Still Buyers are nuts on Ebay.. that my be my best bet..

hiho off to work we go

    Yes it does.

I hate to be a wet blanket but I feel the note only grades between VG-F, and I would sell it as F. Not F+.

I think it's worth about 2.5x face. Maybe more to the right person.

The bank note reporter is a good resource in my opinion! For current
Prices as it is published on a monthly bases, Also it has a wide variety
Of notes listed along with Pics of each note! They also cover stars which
    Many publications dont!

I have called and talked to the editor of the reporter many times about
Publishing Mpc,s in the guide but it has always come no because of the
Limited space they have to work with.

So the only publication for me is the Green sheet currency news letter
The only monthly that covers Mpc,s no pics and very small print though
I guess you cant have everything :)

    mpcusa...

While I subscribe to BNReporter and use it as a guide, the true market value of a piece is what a person is willing to pay? While the BNR suggests a price if $1600 for the Fr352 I just bought, I paid around $400 less than that suggested price. A soft market will dictate smaller margins on certain notes or coins for that matter. My source for that note reduced his asking $$ to keep inventory moving and not to have it stagnate.
In today's times.. you will see many notes hold firm at a locked in price by submitting offers well under asking setting a value to a particular note. You can do this by studying Auction Sites "Buy Now" make an offer screen.

Applying this technique has proven to me to a better gage of what I collect at current Market values. Some Dealers will refuse to budge off the price, that tells me they are into the note and will not take a loss.

Just my analysis..please take no offense to my methods or thinking.

Thanks guys.. I think a bit the same way.. I look on Auction site to see what others are paying.. I wish we all could sell at book price.. And buy at Sunday 2AM EBAY prices..
I don't know what to do.. I think I am hooked on Notes.. I can't get some out of my mind.. I must have them..
I just got a few more American Banknote Co. items.. I LOVE THEM!!
Thanks for all your help.. yes shooting myself in the head is an option.. the info can be a bit to digest at times.. I think I get a bit of OCD and the more info I get the More research I do to confirm..
You ALL always give me more then enough info.. for that I thank you, And For supporting my new addictions my wife says (*&^%)!! LOL
