Big silver for last, for now. We'll see what the afternoon holds. Thanks again everyone for stopping by.
I normally don't post the nickels i find except silver, 38's, 39's, and Buffalo but... this one has an S. Can't resist. I'll keep em coming as long as you keep stopping by and saying hello. Deal?
Definitely a double See that @SensibleSal66? I sent you one for your birthday, and the coin gods sent me two this week. Maybe if you sent more stuff out, you'd find more stuff.
It's fitting, so I'm posting it here. @SensibleSal66 and i got talking nickels this morning, and we both don't exactly have an "appreciation" for nickels, if you will. I told him I'd send him a 1939d if i found another in circulation. He refused, by the way. Anyway. Got me thinking about that one 1939d i could have sworn i found. So i went digging through the ziplok bags. One of these days I'll try to organize. No i won't. Couldn't find the D. But i did find two S. Double the mintage at about 6 million, but i have 2, so.
A Tale of Two Quarters (Wasn't there a book named that? Anyway) I found this 1972 S proof this week. She was pretty banged up. I'm attempting to complete a circulation set of proof quarters, and it's going pretty well, so far. I didn't recall finding another '72 but i don't remember if i put underwear on, usually. Uh oh. Anyway... i went looking to see if i had added a new year to the set and low and behold, i have one already. Side by side. Swapped sides to show lighting. Were there different kinds of proofs back then, like now? Business vs proof?
Found this while looking for an indigenous person head cent for @SensibleSal66's thread. Who cares about the reverse.
I have a couple of each, actually. Those got pointed out to me when i first started posting nickel pics. Thanks for the heads up
