    That's die deterioration, not an error. See how the doubling takes away from the devices, instead of adding to them?

    Correct. Die deterioration doubling. Not a doubled die variety.

    A doubled die is a variety. Errors happen during the striking process.

    Looks to me like some pretty severe machine doubling, not die deterioration doubling.
