I was wondering if anyone can tell me in aproximation how much gold is inside a Carthaginian electrum stater. Is it more gold than the Bosporus electrum staters for example?

    Gorgeous coin!

Probably 60% gold content. The Bosphoran EL Staters run from 65% to 5%.

They were struck on varying degrees of fineness. The trend was downwards. So to answer your question, it would need to be determined which issue this coin is from. Weight of this stater would help with that, as always.

However I would think this is more likely to be a gold stater, rather than electrum. It looks like an early issue.

I am asking generally. I am not asking for this particular coin. So what about a stater weighting about 8gr? Would this be a closer to gold one?

I see. So if over 9gr it should be gold. Under should be electrum? Of course in aproximation always.

Basically yes, the 9+ gram coins are roughly pure (I think often cited as 95% or more fine) gold, and weigh roughly 9/8 of a standard gold stater. The later coins drop into the 70s and 60s % fineness. The main differentiator is style, the early series has aa very refined greek style (line the one you posted) while the late series is somewhat more crude and Tanit has a much more punic look with sharper features.
