Yes - way overpriced. $40 with shipping seems reasonable. $40 for cents, nickels or dimes would be way outside the norm. Slabbed specimens perhaps, but not raw (which is how I buy mine).

The starting bid on the first one is $450. That's got zero bids (so far). That's not a completed sale.

The second one has a starting bid of $250. And once again, no bids yet.

Granted there's six days left on both auctions, but that doesn't mean they'll garner any bids. Or conversely, they can go for considerably more than the asking price. Lets see how it plays out before you shout, 'see???'.

WAS JUST MEANING WHEN I LET THE ONE GO FOR 165.00 AND EVERYONE SAID WAS OVER PRICED, I CANNOT FIND ANY 2020 OR 2021 ERRORS AVAILABLE ANYWHERE UNDER 250..IS ALL I AM SAYING....I HAVE PICKED UP A FEW CENTS AND NICKELS, AND SOME DIE CHIPS THAT IS IT THOUGH, QUARTERS ON UP ARE RIDICULOUSLY PRICED, ESPECIALLY IF SLABBED, SLABBING TAKES A 40.00 ERROR AND MAKES IT A 400 DOLLAR ONE....I PREFER RAW ANYWAYS...

Calm down cowboy. No need to shout. I get your frustration.

The thing is, what everyone else says should be meaningless to you and your decisions. This is a hobby we each should be enjoying for whatever reasons we participate in it. You don't need anybody else's approval or blessing to make a purchase you feel will satisfy your need to own something.

In the same vain it should be unimportant to you when others voice their opinions about missing an opportunity to purchase something they feel is overpriced. We're not spending a dime on that purchase. You are. You're the only one that matters when it comes to shelling out what you think is an honest price for something you want in your collection.

Best of luck in your purchases. Enjoy whatever it is you buy, regardless of what anyone else says.

Most people are used to seeing the prices for striking errors from the 70's, 80's. and 90's. Once they went to the horizontal striking presses striking errors become very scarce to rare. Post 2002 striking errors tend to be much more expensive than pre 2002 errors of the same type.

As far as values go, it doesn't really matter what "we" think the value should be. I never criticize nor poke fun at what someone wants or what they are willing to pay for an item. I have overpaid for many coins I really wanted, and it doesn't bother me one bit (nor does what a critic says about it). And no one needs to justify why they paid for what they bought.

However, don't expect sympathy from me if you found out you bought a damaged coin, overpaid for a coin you could have bought for a lot less money, or didn't make money trying to flip it.

The other issue is that minor to moderate errors on new coins - which you seldom find available - always start out ridiculously high, and then usually flatten out over time. I never buy errors on coins released within the last 4-5 years unless they are super cheap.

understandable, money means nothing if it cannot bring enjoyment...i did overpay for an 82 washington off center 80% with date showing..187.50..got caught up in the bidding, and the coin grades around ms-67, perfect, no marks or wear..so i wanted it, i kind of cringed when putting it in my album (i always mark in code what i pay for anything)..but i really wanted it..can i find one cheaper??maybe, have i seen slabbed versions for 250-500, yes..so i am comfortable now with that purchase...i just cannot believe the prices though...2002-2018 off center cents run 3.00-15.00, once it goes to 2019 and up, add a hundred dollars, lol it is insane...that is all i meant by my original posts..in the last year, i have seen common errors , say o/c dimes, that i was buying for 5-10.00 now, seeing slabbed versions in the 40-140 range for coins in worse shape than ones i bougt a year ago..the market is definitely taken a turn for the worse, imho...

die chipped coin going for 90+...even minor errors , people are asking a bit, if this was my coin would sell for 5.00, minor struck throughs and die chips are not very much, or not supposed to be, i lump them with collar clashes (50 cents to 2.00) depending on what denomination...i need to start posting my stuff, but too fatigued lately..lol anyways...

The struck through area is comparatively big, which may explain a high hammer price. In addition, state quarter and ATB error collectors tend to pay more for struck through on the reverse side.

Is your latest 2021 coin pickup a Delaware Crossing quarter?
