I do have to admit - not that it's ever been a secret anyway - I do really enjoy this design. I will also admit that I'm really happy with my keeper example (although the US Mint has been a dumpster fire this year for the most part.) Whether it would garner a 70 I'm not sure (that's kind of a gamble anyway, IMO) - I don't really mind. I can probably do better with the pictures, but this is what I'm going with for tonight at least.

I have noticed that all three examples I received have die scratches on the reverse to the lower and upper left of the eagle. You can just make mine out under BUS of PLURIBUS. I wonder if they will all have them, and how that will affect grading.

Feel free to share your images of your 2021 Peace Dollars (if you got one.)

I looked at it and thought right away, that is cleaned or a fake - and THEN I relized it is a new 2021. You know what, that works really well on the new press. Lovely, better than they original.

My experience with sending to coins in to a TPG, when you send just one your chances of a 70 are pretty slim.

Agreed. The Peace dollar is a nicely composed and executed coin design. It's my favorite silver dollar design.

I might have to get one of these 2021s in the future once they're not a hot market commodity anymore.

I really like the new peace dollars. There's three things that really set them off though.

    - The .999 alloy makes it appear too white IMO, the color is somewhat unsettling.

    - The low relief mixed with the 1921 type date. I know the mint probably couldn't have made a high relief, but it still looks kind of weird.

    - Last but not least, the luster on the planchets looks dull and does not flow throughout the entire coin like on a normal peace dollar.

Not sure if the mint could have fixed any of these things, but if all 3 aspects were straightened out we would have a perfect peace dollar on our hands. Then again I think they did a good enough job with the peace dollar. The reverse is very convincing.

That's just people putting an expectation on it that just isnt there as its a 2021. They could have done a high relief one but it would have had a lower mintage and people would have complained about that.

I think people are going to complain no matter what when it comes to the US mint. "The mintage was too low, collectors couldn't get all of them" or "The mintage was too high, the market crashed and now I'm only making $10 per coin"

A high relief 2021 Peace (maybe satin proof?) would be badass though. I'd be willing to pay extra for that. A high relief definitely wouldn't have been cost effective for normal strikes.

I agree that no matter what they will complain. It's either to over produced or they missed out on something thats a hot product that becomes unfair etc.

Compared to the old ones it is kind of high relief with a fuller strike, but I was really hoping they would do a RP one since weve never seen one of those before

Some of you are wishing I would have bought one of them. I will put it in the memoirs for my Kids to buy one for the collection.
I think that I will find them around and in hand sooner than later.

With green18's photo, we get a good look at the laser sharp strike, which really emphasizes the design's beauty.

And it's not all bag marked from sitting in a bank vault $1000 bag for ~40 years. ;)

Got mine this week. All three Peace dollars look great. Very attractive coins. Wish I could say the same about the Morgans. 2 of 3 had marks.

I really like the Peace dollars but I love Morgan's. I save them both and do not sell either. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Thanks for the post.
