So, think your coins are Hot? Welp, they’re not hotter than mine!! You see my home is currently a construction site. I got up early and decided to send off a bunch of coins to GC including my Morgan’s and Peace dollars. The only spot I could readily access was….the top of the stove. Now this was perfect as I was using the brown water activated tape and the sponge and sink we’re also clear. Apparently as I put the packing box on the range top I bumped the burner to High. So I’m moving right along like a factory in high gear and hmmm, What’s that smell? I know I smell something, something like burning. Was it the toaster? Burnt toast? Then I see some smoke, hmmm, where’s that coming from? As I spun the box to look it became obvious, with the hot red glow!!! Take it from me, stay above from the stove, it’s dangerous!!!
Oh ya I’m a clutz for sure. Years ago got a joint virus, all joints swollen including my hands. Decided to send off a potential top pop. I’d already made several and this one was the best I’d ever handled. Welp, while putting it in a Mylar flip I sorta think I put the side of my finger on it. Decided I’d give it a quick acetone bath just in case…..Welp, I dropped it. It hit the hardwood floor and slid, then took off like a rocket. Rolled 12 feet across the room, hit an iron chair leg, then spun and rotated like a top. Yes, I ruined it, had marks all over both sides. Came back PR63. My wife said “You dummy” why would you play with coins when your hands don’t work?”…As always, she was right.
