The "Mother of all Contests"

    When this contest starts I wonder if I should go find a 5th grader like they have on TV?

    Ok. Rules. All answers must be in by Thursday 1/28/10 at 9:00am central time. 6 prizes total. 1897 Morgan Dollar, 1997 Botanic Garden Silver dollar, a 1957-P and 1958-P Type B reverse Washington Silver quarter BU, a 1956 Lincoln cent and 1960-D Small Date Lincoln both certified by NGC MS65 Red and a BU roll of 1957 Wheat cents and a OBW 1959-D Lincoln Cents, 3 PF69 Ultra Cameo Nickels graded by PCGS/NGC years 1993, 1997, 1999 and a bank wrapped rolls of BU 1964 nickels and 3 Ike Dollars 1971-S and 2 1978's. All answers must be by private message. Also specify if you have a preference of what prize you would like to receive.

    Winners will be picked by who answered the most questions right. In case of a tie I will draw the names. Now here are the questions.

    1. What was the largest tank battle of World War 2?

    2. What was known as “the phony war” and what date period did it run through?

    3. What was the “Anzio Express”?

    4. On what date did Germany and Italy declare war on the United States ?


    5. What were the 5 code names for the landing beaches on D-Day in Normandy?

    6. What was the code name for the German Offensive against Russia in the summer of 1941?

    7. On whose grave marker is inscribed, "At This Spot the 77th Infantry Division Lost a Buddy. [FILL IN NAME]. 18 April 1945."?

    8. What was the GIs reply to the British saying, "The trouble with you Yanks is that you're overpaid, oversexed, and over here."?

    9. Who is the only person ever to receive two Oscars for the same role? Hint movie was made in 1946 and was about Veterans from World War 2.
