Me too. I'm trying to put together a Kennedy proof set from circulation. I'm over half way there....

    well, my night is ruined

i just got back from the bank - teller said they couldn't get them out of the vault since it was after 4 pm......of course, had she told my wife that when she called this morning i could've made it there before 4.

so i am having to jump thru hoops to get them ,which makes it even more likely that i'll get skunked. Pardon my cynicism.

Just got a call from a bank that says they got in $180 in customer rolled halves.

I'm leaving now to pick them up. I LOVE customer rolled halves. Wish me luck.

While at the bank a old lady came in and of course I checked the rolls of Quarters, dimes, nickels nothing from the quarters except 1 roll of South Dakota State quarters almost opened the roll but saw the quarters on both sides and said wait a minute, found a proof Canadian dime from 2001 Years of Voulunteers worth $5. Checked $110 worth of half dollar rolls customer wrapped and nothing.

$17.50 in loose halves from the bank - got one 1964!

To Inquisitive: Nice haul on your halves - but what's up with the teller offering $20 but no more? Why would she hold out on you? Every bank I've been to is always happy to get rid of all of them. Maybe you should have left, then came back in and asked for $20 more, repeating until you got them all!!! LOL! Seriously, I'd try to get back there to see if they had any more silver - maybe ask the manager if you can have more than $20...

mdh157, you're right, I've been very fortunate in finding loose silver lately. I check in at a bunch of banks regularly - most are strikeouts but thankfully sometimes they have the good stuff!

Well, the $190 worth of "customer rolled halves" were actually brinks rolls. So, I was disappointed. I opened them and got 1 40%er, my first silver half in almost 2 weeks.

So, I bought a box of nickels....my first (searched rolls many times, but never bought a box). Here are my finds (I only keep prior to 1960 unless BU or 2009/10....ya right):

You can actually trust sellers on eBay not to go through any given bag of coins then advertise them as not having been gone through? I've been burnt before on eBay, can you tell?

Well I was starting my indian head cent collection infact I just got the dansco book for it yesterday. So I ordered a roll of pennys that said wheats/indian head cents and in the picture every roll had an IH showing so i figured there would be maybe 10 but the only one I got was the one showing. But I did get like 10 pennys in the teens and some even with mint marks the vdb I got in that roll was almost perfect it makes me think that that roll may have been truley unsearched but you never know. It was only like $8.00 with shipping it wasn't like a huge waste :D

Thanks for the info. I am new to roll searchin, I find it fun but at th same time exhausting. Recently I picked up $5.00 bucks worth of .1cent rolls went through them as I am collecting from 1970 back, found several of the 70 series, a few 60, even fewer 1970. & 60 "S", a couple 57's and then a few earlier Wheaties. And five 2009 penny's.

Before re turning them for more I intend to go through the remaining penny's to look for any Dbl marks. Then off to the Bank I go to get more.

I am in a learning mode with these collectins; thanks for all your help!
