Oooh, that poor quarter. It had a rough life after it left the mint. Sometime it the last 27 years it had a run-in with something harder and stronger than itself. The nearly even spacing of the rim dents shown on the reverse is intriguing - if they were exactly evenly spaced you could speculate that it was gripped in something with three prongs. But the one dent is just not quite even with the others, so there are a multitude of guesses, from getting mangled in a coin counter or vending machine, to being accidentally dropped in a piece of equipment, to a bored kid playing with his dad’s hammer and vise.
It is an error even if it's post damage. Isn't that a cud to the right of the date. Granted it's in rough shape.
Totally incorrect. Don't give such a bad answer if you don't know what you are talking about. Post mint damage is never any kind of error. No Cud. It is a bent quarter.

You are assuming something about me. You don't know me well enough. I'm definitely not a jerk. I'm well liked by many members on this forum. I was preventing you from giving wrong information.
New collectors use this site to get information and hopefully learn and grow in the hobby. Many members feel that it's important that the information posted is accurate and factual. To an experienced collector who knows and understands the minting process, the OPs coin is easily recognized as damage and not a mint error of any kind. The potential problem is that your post says it's an error. All this does is confuse new collectors. They don't know if a member has 35 years of experience specializing in errors (@paddyman98 ) or somebody new to the hobby (you). Who should they believe? That's the reason your post got jumped. It wa posted as factual even though it's completely inaccurate. There is nothing wrong with posting your opinion or answering questions. However, if you're not sure, or just taking a guess, make sure you qualify it as such ("I'm new and think it might be..." Or "could it be...). That helps the new collector who asked the question, and it helps you learn as well Sorry for the long winded response but I think it's very important that new collectors get accurate information on this site. Many of us have decades of collecting experience and want to share it and help new collectors
Yo @paddyman98 I'm not looking for trouble here, but.... Fact is, you are a jerk. Thing is, you're up front about it right on your Avatar, which I've always respected. It says "let me burst your bubble", and you're happy to do so, correct? Then you're a jerk. No offense, you know i luv ya. But anyone who tells people they're happy to burst someone's bubble, is a jerk. You're basically happy to bring someone back to reality, where you reside, while they're off in la-la land. While necessary, it can be a "jerk" move to some. Therfore, you, my friend, are a jerk, lol. BUT... only to those whose bubbles you have bursted. And you've bursted none of mine, so we cool, right?
When I was a kid I would misbehave and get into trouble. My mom disciplined me. She would whoop my butt!.. That hurt and I cried but guess what? It made my skin thicker and it toughened my personality up.. When I burst people's bubbles I'm in a sense trying to do the same as my mom taught me.. to show them that they are wrong and need to be whipped. If they want to continue crying and not toughen up then that's not my problem. They want to be wimps all of their lives and call me a jerk well that's too bad for them..
