Interesting but not uncommon. For example there are many such coins that for similar reasons are not really to valuable. Take the 31D Mercury Dime. 4th lowest mintage in the series but just no real value. There are many more similar coins. A recent example is the Bicentennial Quarter, all the new Lincoln Cents, All the Presidential Dollars, etc. The vast amount hoarded by collectors will make them all just face value in about a thousand years.
Well I'll agree, the vast amount hoarded will depress the value of some real low modern mintages, yet, like the 31-S, they will command prices much greater than face.
Did you miss those little smiling type faces at the end of my statement of face value after thousands of years? Nothing personal but that was SUPPOSED to be what is called and exageration. Should have said million years so it would be more clear as to the meaning.
