A BIG Thank You to my good friend @CoinJockey73 for a surprise package of 3.5 pounds of nickels with some wheat cents thrown in. That.s right , I received an unsolicited surprise package from Coinjockey73 full of 40's and 50's nickels. PLUS a roll of my Birth year Nickels (1958). Sprinkled in were some nice early date Wheaties! In the nickels were a couple 1958 P and 30 or so 1958 D nickels and a 1950 P and D nickel (key dates). I had a great time going through them all! What a nice surprise it was! Can't thank him enough for the thoughtfulness! I had a really great time going through them all. Stay tuned for what I send to him in return! I'm going to have to think about it awhile, but I'm sure I'll come up with something!

I think your math may be a bit off....
    3.5lbs of nickels = ~1587.57 grams
    1587.57/5 (nickel weight) = 317.15 nickels

I see exactly 6 nickels and a few cents in that picture ;P

Here is the rest minus the roll! and of course you have to account for the packing material.

What crazy person sends another person 3.5lbs of loose nickels? That person doesn't sound very stable ;)

Funny thing, i had that package sitting around for about 2 weeks. The line at the p.o. was so long every time i went. That's why i started to add things on to it, lol. Old nickels kept popping up. I can really send one of those off every month or so. I ran a contest that was a total dud for a roll of nickels way back. This is what that became, lol. Big bag of nickels for @Beardigger !

    So...
I thought sending 3.5lbs of nickels from the mid 40's through the 50's was something a coin person might find fun. Everyone i told (my wife) said i was nuts, and maybe i am, but "fun" is what i was going for. Now this guy, @Beardigger? He's nuts, lol.
In retaliation to my sending him 3.5lbs of old nickels and wheat cents he sent me 20 proof coins! One of them is silver, and happens to be my home state.
The war is officially on, my friend! I put a few things in the mail the other day, but nothing special, i was bored, but wait till you see what i send next. It won't be anywhere near as pretty as these proofs, but it'll cost at least 20 bucks to ship to you, lol.
Thanks again @Beardigger. Who knew a little W swap would turn into this? But i can't tell you how happy i am it did. You're a great guy, and I'm proud to call you my friend.
Finally, all the proofs! I'm not doing individual unless asked, too much going on. But if anyone wants to see anything specific, just ask!

The cents on the right are a 1972s and 1973s which are incredible! Too much @Beardigger, I'm not complaining, but holy mackerel man!
    Woohoo!

I'm pretty sure @Beardigger started it, actually. And these are just little skirmishes. When the actual war starts, I'd duck and cover :angelic:.
