What ? You want me to tell ya what others have have already told ya ? OK, but understand I don't guess what the TPG graded it, I give what I would grade it - 64 RB. And no, those aren't planchet marks on the shoulder and lapel, those are contact marks.
I do agree that the coin has now gone RB. I am trying to see what you two see. Where are these big gashes of contact that @potty dollar 1878 and you see? There is a slight bag mark on the collar of Lincolns shirt, some slight on his lower jaw line. But even in hand you have to look for them.
Soap Bar slab. Planchet marks are known for Lincoln's shoulder and the lapel has two marks in the design. Here is an example that I like ro show the rough planchet marks on the shoulder and the 2 marks on the lapel that are common on all Lincolns wheats. MS66 RB on the OPs coin.
It is. Like I stated above they are part of the design. Go to PCGS or NGC. The PCGS MS68 42-D plate coin has rough planchet shoulder and the 2 marks that some are calling "gashes".
Sorry folks, I was having trouble with my internet yesterday. Anacs Graded this one a red. Seems the holder or just time has turned this one to Red Brown.
