Well believe it or not my dealer friend didnt have anything with a hole in it....but I do have a drill! lol As that was the first thing I looked for something with a hole.
That is high on my list of “seller’s remorse” coins. Very high. Another which @kazuma78 ended up with, as a matter of fact. Your pix of the ‘Roo n’ Emu” look better than the ones I had did. Hey, you’ve got a Type 4 elongate there. The rarest type to date. One of only 30 made.
No coin. My deepest respect for a CT member that has such loving camaraderie from others. Thank you for your loyalty, experience, and service to our CT community.
Wow...for a second I thought this was another " Liberty Mutual " TV commercial! And the dude dressed as a roo!
I know a gem when I see it. For me, the back story is a large part of what makes an item valuable to me.
In honor of LordM, a man whose generosity is admired by all. He gives not only of his collection but also his time and knowledge. He sets a high bar that the rest of us should strive for. It is in his honor that I present my first ancient. Congrats LordM, you deserve this day.
Thanks for all you do for this site, @lordmarcovan; I doubt CT would be much the same without you. Here's my only purchase from the man himself. Needless to say, it looks excellent in my Swiss Confederation Type album. 1876 Swiss Confederation 10 Rappen
LOL!! Liberty Mutual does my business liability and workers comp. they sent me my renewal early in October…. Never once have I had a claim yet my cost increased a thousand bucks. I don’t have to pay the bill till the end of the year so I figured I would have some fun with them so I wrote them a very nice letter reminding them that in all these years I have never had a claim and may I please implement an advertising deduct when I send my payment?….. So far, no reply.
Happy Rob's Day, Lord M! We've heard this more than once. It's like deja vu all over again with your generosity. Here's my Lord M elongated's. I'm a member of the club too. Thanks Rob! There's nobody here on CT more deserving of a day of honor than you. Even the stamps on the envelope are ripe with Robertson's attention to detail.
@Paddy54 thanks for starting this post. "If we cannot do him honor while he's here to hear the praise . . . " Rob, you are a lucky man to hear all of the praises you elicit before your passing, and you deserve these good words. We oft wait until it is too late to yell the praises for good men. You are one of the few regular contributor to CT that I can think of, that is always kind and thoughtful in their posts. I would never believe you have a "mean bone" in your body and you add to our world immensely. Thank you for being you and doing what you do. Now “Go Eat a Cheesesteak Sammich.” LOL
I tried to suggest we make it “Eat A Cheesesteak Sammich Day”, instead, but you see how well that worked out.
So tomorrow morning we are Down to Brunswick Ga. For the parade. What time you get off Rob? https://giphy.com/explore/rocket-marching-band
