    The mint mark looks a little indented??? Maybe it just took a hit right there.

    Might be a collapsed zinc bubble. The condition is horrendous, very harshly cleaned. Might be interesting to study and find out just what happened to it, but there really is no value there.

    Definitely zinc rot

    @Adam Johnson
    Your cent is a copper plated zinc planchet.
    It's not a major mint error. Just an issue with a crappy planchet..

    This is what happens

    It’s in the beginning stages of Zinc Rot.

    That 1990 looks like a derivative of "The Scream".

    Doubtful, entirely. It's a depressed MM, nothing like I've seen, or have been shown. As an expert on zinc rot, as your response would indicate, why wouldn't this be more evident, rather than the aging similarities found on the rest of coin?

    So mint errors that have not even half the planchet struck would be nothing more than that as well?? Are you hiring?

    ...and apparently making yourselves LANGUAGE n the process. That was a joke, just like you are, and I wouldn't even consider, ever, working for a lot of fools like you.

    What a shame.. you have been reported for foul language. no need to get nasty. We were just trying to help.

    I have a lot of years collecting as do many others on CT. Zinc Cents have been with us since 1982. That’s 39 years and you wouldn’t believe what we have seen in that time with zinc cents. They all rot at different rates due to storage, handling and environmental conditions.

    If you feel otherwise please explain how a mint mark can be depressed into metal. What about the rest of the design? Lincoln, the date, IGWT and LIBERTY? Those areas are struck harder than the mint mark.

    Lots of people don't like it when they think they found a fortune, and it turns out to be nothing. Most don't get so angry about it though. Good luck making your fortune as an error coin expert. ;)

    Next time take out the bad stuff in the quote so the mods don't have to do it a second time;).Just saying,actually you can edit it now or take the quote off your post completely.

    I edited it. I barely even noticed the language, just the terrible attitude.
