The first one appears to be a type 1 and the second is a type 3,condition wise you still have a total of $2.

Not confusing. I imagine it has to do with lighting. The coin on the right is getting hit with a lot more light.
True but still they look completely different to me light or no light.Im seeing two different shapes and patterns for each nonetheless.
