Hi everybody. Recently I was searching through some of my dad's old things and I came across this coin. Upon doing some research on the net, i've seen many different values estimated from $11,000 to $82,000, but I don't really count myself that lucky, so I was wondering if you guys could give me an estimate of the value of this coin and whether or not it's a fake etc. Thanks so much in advance. http://img59.imageshack.us/i/img0345l.jpg/ http://img25.imageshack.us/i/img0350cw.jpg/
I'm no expert, but your image of the obverse is very different from the image in the Red Book... Yours: This one may or may not be the exact one from the Red Book, but it is almost exactly the same as the Red Book image: Joe
Look at the mouth of the pig and the V above the pig. Both of these are places where your coin is significantly different than the known authentic pieces. Those 2 differences alone are enough to guarantee that the coin is not a genuine original.
looking for some info. i found that one was sold for 100.000+, and the pictures show one with the name "sommer iland"
friend of mine has one and will post pictures when i have a chance. anyway does anyone have a picture of the real deal? according to him the one he has meets the specs of the real thing in size and weigh. also how can he get it certified?
Keep in mind that misspellings are common on coins that old. They are the curency of the realm, so to speak.
Who and when? I have the same replica of that type of coin, weighing only 3.25gr., d=21mm. Who and when made this type of replica? http://www.taxfreegold.co.uk/1989bermudaproofsethoggemoney.html
