Clad half dollar. 1998D. Prob Uncirculated but with enough hits to make it not too appealing.

You're talking about the copper showing on the reverse rim and shield? Must be thin copper nickel clad there.

The edge is supposed to look brown as it's a copper-nickel composition.Your coin was minted at the Denver mint hence the letter D on the obverse,it has a mintage of 15 million.Very common in this condition and no added value, spend it when needed.

I agree all around, @Kasia …I was thinking AU58 at first but it does have a strong strike, evidenced by the obverse hair detail, and reverse pic is blurry but looks clean of hits, best I can tell…..but if UNC, with the thin spot plating and the bag mark/hits, MS60 of the most basic level…imo…Spark

Just noticed scoring damage on the reverse…to the right of R/DOLLAR and to the right of F/OF…back to AU58…if that…imo…Spark

Somehow the second question mark in the poll was more enticing that the first.

I voted for both '?'s, because the poll rules allowed it
It's a nice Kennedy half - I like to use them for tips - the young 'uns haven't seen many and some get a puzzled look when they see one.

TBH, I only based the Uncirc from the obverse pic. Reverse pic quite blurry. But in looking at the reverse, there are possibly coin counter type damage issues. Can't tell for certain, but from CRH this issue over the past dozen years I hit up boxes of halves, the 1998s can be found in much better UNC condition. No need to keep a dog like this one even if no actual damage or wear can be found.

@Kennyeva$$$ you've been a member since 2018 so I expect you've read numerous posts on Coin Talk and should know that we can't read minds. If you explained your question(s) in the opening post, it would help.
Other than a normal, circulation worn Kennedy half, I see nothing special.
Also, please post photos FULL IMAGE for better viewing. Thanks.
