Just noticed this one has a decent collar clash right obverse rim, nothing insane but it still adds to it nice. 20211009_171834.jpg 20211009_171853.jpg

I've confirmed it as a 1914 and the date is barely legible. I think the nic-a-date wears off after a while, and they become dateless again--not sure.

CRH has been a bust lately. But things have taken a turn for the better past few days! Found this '28 in a CWR, and the 30-S and 73-D in the same bank wrapped roll!

Opened a roll of pennies today that were almost all uncirculated from the mid 80’s . Not worth anything but I always find it interesting when a roll has an odd make up.

Bought a $25 box of pennies for the first time.

    350 coppers total.

    8 wheats
    Really beat up 1924 S
    1935
    2x 1944, 2x1945
    1958
A 1953 that must had been seems to have been completely uncirculated just slight scratch on the head & small dent on the edge. I'm guessing someone accidentally dropped it so decided it wasn't a keeper anymore. But hey if it's in the album ain't no one seeing the edge.

    Sorry no pics.

    1980 & 83 Canadian.

    As promised:

Notice how it says, "Printed in U.S.A."

If this doesn't demonstrate the appalling condition of our educational system, I don't know what could.

This happened two days ago - sorry, been busy. 40 or so rolls of dimes yielded only one silver Roosie and no 2009's. I was feeling ice cold and then my son ripped open the first bank-wrapped roll of nickels and I found this little gem!

bought a box of Lincoln cents. opened it, 50 rolls of bright shiny 2021's. I think there is one known error so far with the 2021's. Decisions, decisions.....hmm

What is that error? I have a box of 2021s as well and I've been saving every one I find, in case of anything.

Errors aren't specific to a year. You can have an error on any coin of any year.
A variety however, is probably what you are thinking of.

According to the Red Book, certain years have certain prominent errors. For example, we all know of the 1972 DDO. But nothing is listed for a 1973 double-die anything. Does that mean there are no 1973 double dies? Not necessarily, but it does mean that I don't know about them. I'm no authority on errors / varieties. That's why I want to know the rumors about 2021 errors / varieties.

1972 is not an error. That is a variety.
That's what I'm trying to get across.
An error is something like a brockage, die-cap, cud, strike through, off center, etc...Something that can happen to any coin from any year.
A variety is something like a doubled die, WAM/CAM, low leave/high leaf, OMM, RPM...whatever. Those happen on specific years.

As for 2021 varieties, I haven't seen anything notable mentioned.

Variety Vista shows two ddo's for 1973 and errors and Varietys are two whole different things.Remember (doubled dies)are Varietys not errors and some have been discovered.Or are you just referring to the average off center strike etc which basically happens every year for coins.

this is the only photo I can find of it. it was described as a strike thru with feeder finger scrapes on the obverse. not my photo 2021 Lincoln cent error.jpg

Yeah that looks about right for the description.
That's an error. Not a variety.
That could happen to any coin for any year.

My current hunt consists of a nickel box. Initial results are promising upon roll inspection. This war nickel ender is a nice start. Results will follow in about a week. Stay tuned.

We should come up with other names for enders. If a Franklin half is a "Bender" and a walker is a "Wender", we can get creative. Maybe this can be a "Sender".

Can any of y'all suggest how I might find out whether or not a bank has to pay per box when ordering coins? I've asked several tellers and personal bankers over the last few days and not one seems to know anything about it.

The only way I found out was through developing a relationship with the tellers, the head teller, and the manager.
I feel like it's not something that your regular teller will know or the bank management is willing to divulge.

I actually asked the Branch Manager at my banking institution that very same question last week. She was unaware of any fees they might pay for ordering boxes. Hopefully I did not open a can of worms on this subject. I doubt it though. The Manager said we would not charge a customer in good standing a fee especially one like me that has been banking with this institution for 26 years.
