Why are 2009 Presidential dollars not being put up for sale in bags or available through Direct Ship? what are they waiting for?
no, only 2007 and some 2008 were put on Direct Ship and there were no bags issued for any of the 2009 Presidents.
the mint should melt down all those unwanted presidential, sacagawea and susan anthony dollar coins. and issue limited future dollar coins by using those being melted down. recycle to be exact.
That is a brilliant idea that would be in line with the 'green' agenda these days. Do you think anyone's thought about that? I have been spending my $250 direct ship sacagawea's lately and if you pay for anything at or above $10 with these coins, that's when the looks begin. I hate to think they are going to just sit in these massive vaults for years and years to come. They are going to age and discolor as badly as the 2001 Sacagawea's I received.
....i just read that there is a 12 year supply on hand at the federal reserve. visualize hand slapping head.
They should just stopping producing the $1 bill...then all these coins would be useful rather than just melting them down. That would be the real way to conserve resources.
I guess that I should stop buying the cover series presidential dollars and annual proof sets but I can't stop. Someone please slap me.
Phil, the malady you describe is not life threatening, however it is highly contagious. Hanging around forums like CT only exacerbate your condition. I recommend taking (buying) two Morgans and call me in the morning......
Don't do that! I've decided my Peace dollars are all ugly. Anything that says TRVST on it must be spent.
lol I've got a bunch of Morgans too. I really want a 1909S VDB but I'm starting to second guess that obsession based on some of the threads from CT. Please tell me that there is hope for me at the end of the rainbow!
