Guess The Grade On My Circulation Lincoln Find

    Got this Lincoln in change today, care to guess the grade? :rolleyes: It's not often you see one in this condition.......:rolleyes:

    That doesn't look like circulation wear to me. Looks like rapid abrasion -- like someone stuck it on a sander or something.

    If normal wear, AG-3. If not, I'd need to see the back, but would probably call it F-12 detail, abrasion damage.

    Yea has to be sanded, under a microscope there are not any real obvious striations, but a fine enough grit probably wouldn't show strongly. The reverse is just as nice as the obverse. LOL

    It measures about 4 mm thick, a normal wear 1979 is about 6 mm.

    This is a good one for the PGGS (Penny Guy Grading Service) with a high enough fee this could go XF45. :rolleyes:

    Looks like it's been a LOOOOOOOOOONG 31 years for that Lincoln cent.
