It seems unusually quiet here today, and it may be Google's fault ... Normally we get notified by e-mail when there's a reply to a thread we've participated in or are watching, but starting very recently GMail (which I'm guessing many of us use) has started classifying these notifications as spam! It's easy enough to fix - go into spam folder and open one of the notifications and report as NOT spam.
I did that a couple of months ago when I stopped getting alerts in my inbox. I checked and they were all in the Spam folder. A couple of clicks remedied that.
..it could be because i have about 50+ in my iggy bin...??.... EDIT: i just counted....there's only 49..
The alerts I get have been classified as spam by Yahoo and placed in my junk folder for the last few years.
You can also check "Alerts" on the top right of the CT page if you think GMail is trashing your CT updates. (It took me a while to figure this out. One day I noticed that I had 234 alert messages and decided to see what that was all about.)
I disable alerts as much as I can, hence I don't have any notification of any sort. I check what I need when I want. Getting 100+ notifications a day would be a PITA I think Q
You are obviously a LOT more important than I am. I get about 3. And what's wrong with a bit of PITA anyway?
Spam, why did they name it after a delightful food. They should have named it Sperm, not what your thinking shame on you, as in Sperm Whale, duh.
I disabled email alerts from Coin Talk shortly after I joined early last year. I sometimes get 20-25 or more alerts per day, and it's easier for me just to check them whenever I visit the website.
