    Sicily, Katane, c. 216/5-206 BC. Æ Chalkous (3.46 g 17.69 mm). Jugate busts of Serapis and Isis. R/ Apollo standing slightly l., leaning on column, holding laurel branch and bow. CNS III, 22; HGC 2, 609.

    Next - haven't seen a bronze from Sicily for a while now so another one please.

    Two non-sea non-air creatures (three, actually: snake, man-faced bull, and nymph), plus a sea creature, plus a celery leaf.

    Obv: nymph seated left on rock, right hand raised above her head, extending her left hand to touch coiled serpent before her; selinon leaf above
    Rev: man-faced bull standing right; ΣEΛINONTIOΣ above; in exergue, fish right

    I know it's technically the same as the last coin, but I really love the horse, and it's a wee bit different since it doesn't have the 3 dots under the horse.

    If it's allowed, let's see a lesser known empress.

    Although her coins usually bring very healthy prices at auction, Byzantine Empress regnant Irene is probably not very familiar among many ancient coin collectors.

    Here's an Æ Nummus of Irene, with Constantine VI (her son), Constantinople, 792-797 AD, a little crude with a die shift on the reverse.

    Supporters of Irene deposed, blinded and imprisoned Constantine VI in 797 AD, making her the first Empress regnant of the Empire, ruling until 802 AD

    This coin came to me by way of Roma's E-Sale 82, lot 1753.

    Next: A coin issued by an Emperor, who had a strong Empress, the real power behind the throne, so to speak.

    Queen Diddarani......The king Kshemagupta even had her name put on his coins and placed before his own!... The populace started calling him "Diddakshema".

    Obverse- Goddess Ardochsho/Lakshmi seated facing in half lotus position, with Nagari legend 'Di' to left 'kshema' to right
    Reverse- King standing facing and sacrificing at altar holding trident, with Nagari legend 'Gupta' bottom right.
