If it makes you feel any better, they only had 1 of my 2 boxes of cents this week. AND they were solid 2021P!

My first box of quarters only gave me 1xW (2019 AMP) so we will see what the 2nd has in store.

2 boxes of quarters weren't as great as last week's but I will still take it.

15 or so rolls of dimes yielded two 2009 Roosies - a P and a D. That was it. Zero silver. Am I the only one who thinks dimes tend to be boring?

Man, and I can't find any brand new 2021 quarters here! I want a bunch of bank-wrapped WCD quarters and all I have is two rolls!

And I've come to the conclusion that my wife has all the luck with CRH.

    -I have a 1909 penny - she found it.
-1890 IHC - she found it.
-One wheatie per roll - happens to her.
-I went through a bunch of dime rolls last night and asked her to bet on what'd come up more - 2009 or silver - she bet on 2009 even though my tally thus far is 2 2009's to 7 silvers. Sure enough, found 2 2009's and no silvers.
-She searched some penny rolls today while I was in the store and opened one that had SIX dimes in it. (This happened today.) Most I've ever found in one roll was two.

If she finds a Flying Eagle cent (or first-year no-shield IHC), key Lincoln date, or anything two generations prior to the oldest commonly found / "still worth only face value" coins in any roll, I'm hanging it up and letting her do all of the hunting from now on.

Stopped in at a nearby CU this morning and asked for halves and large dollar coins. They had $30 in CWR halves (someone's dump, ugh), and no large dollars.

On the bright side, the teller I was working with this morning told me late last week a CU member dumped ~2500 large dollars into the coin counter in the lobby. I confirmed these were the large dollars "with Eisenhower on them". The teller said other people waiting in line at the time rushed over to buy some of the coins as the "dumper" began dumping them into the coin counting machine. As a result, my fav teller at another local bank who has had success several times in the past should now be able to order large dollar coins for me...Or will be able to as soon as these recently deposited large dollars become available in "the system".

I've found 2 rolls of silver halves that past two weeks. No pics, just trust me. Stuff might be coming in I think.

This is a total coincidence given there is no way the large dollars I mentioned above have entered "the system"...

I just received a call from my favorite teller. Apparently, she placed an order for large dollar coins last week, and she just heard from the bank's contract courier that the courier vault has between 500 and 1,000 large dollars. She expects all the larger dollars to be delivered to her bank in a bag (not rolled) either tomorrow or next week. She will call me as soon as they arrive.

Also, she told me a customer brought in ~$900 in halves late last week. She told me I am welcome to buy some when I come into the bank to pick up the large dollars...Likely a CRHer's dump, but I may buy a few hundred worth of the halves to find out.

It pays to have a good contact at a bank. Being friendly and courteous, and occasionally bringing in cookies helps.

    Happy Hunting!

My latest half dollar box produced two 40%ers and one NIFC. Always fun to get a few keepers!

2009-D Roosie and 1943-S Jefferson. Quite a few WCD's. So, not a lot.

But I learned something. A bank teller said that the bank has to pay to order boxes of coins. That being the case, why do coin roll hunters complain about having to pay to get boxes of coins ordered? (Up until now, apparently ignorantly, I believed that banks could just order coins and get them in for free, such that the bank was pocketing the per-box fee that some people complain about.)

Depends on how their contracts with the delivery companies are written.
My CU can order whatever number of boxes/bills from their supplier. They don't have a per-box fee. I'm assuming it is a set monthly/yearly fee. I'm not privy to all of that.

Not technically coin roll hunting, but checking your change at a retail store can pay off too.
