Umm. @Pickin and Grinin . Has this been certified ? It looks kind of unusual for a Incomplete planchet error.
I didn't pay much, but it was worth the education I hope to get from all you error enthusiasts out there.
That would be a double clip. Blakesley Effect will make a coin thinner at the edge, but will not have missing metal on the circumference. There should be a hint of cut and shear on the edge at both spots. How much under-weight is it?
Maybe because it's a small double clip ( Incomplete planchet error)?? It just doesn't look correct .@Pickin and Grinin @alurid
I would also like to see photos of the edge at both clips, and there the are. Very nice photos. And proof positive of a double clip coin. Your coin had a very short circulation life. Got a bit of red left on it. Nice error coin.
Both clipped edges look like they have the "cut and tear" characteristic of an incomplete planchet. Minor double clip IMO
Nice very small incomplete double clipped planchet error. Just barely made a double. The edge photos show it.
It appears to me the edge photos show a compression line at the center, where the two opposing edges of a cutting tool meet. But I defer to the greater experience of above members
Wow! I love both '58 Lincolns. I watch a "car" channel and I saw them restore a 1958 Lincoln. When they finished it, it was stunning to say the least, however, his price tag to have his car restored was over $100,000. That's some price tag. The reason I mentioned that, is there any chance that any of you can give us a price tag on the coin?
The late 50's had some awesome looking designs from all brands. That lincoln is sweet. love the tilted double head lights.
Thank ya it fit's in nicely with my other errors. But I am gonna need a new album soon. Or maybe some blank Dansco pages.
