I have been really careful to follow the rules as best as I can. I advertised my coin auctions and the site where the auctions are listed in the proper area of the forums. Today I am reading this thread http://www.cointalk.com/t87441/ and noticed I was basically called a spammer by one of our members. My coin store (which I am not going to mention here) is a legitimate store that I enjoy running. I didn't realize I did anything wrong as I don't post links anywhere else nor do I email people with links. I realize that my last post in the advertising section sounded over the top, but I did it in the proper area. All I was trying to do was get more people involved in the site and my store. Thank you for your time. (if this is in the wrong location, please move it) Although I am upset, I still will be involved with cointalk- as most of you are great to talk with.
Hopefully, A Voice Of Reason "To err is human" I can only speak for myself when I say the public apology is appreciated, by myself, and I would believe, the majority. I'm concerned that you may have been offended by anothers' post, but I'm certain you understand that under unspecified conditions, we may also offend. I've been guilty, in my short tenure as a participant, of violating several procedural rules, where I was enlightened, and subsequently corrected my actions. I trust that you will accept my appreciative note of your enlightened acknowledgment, and will not be disheartened from future considerate participation.:high5:
I agree with Frank - I think you are miss-reading the post and not giving the guy a chance. Just because your name and spam are typed in the same post means you are bad. Heck, I'm talking about you and Frank here in this post but you aren't the same....thankfuly! LOL Speedy
I read it the same way Treashunt does. And, no, bashing an auction site is not out of line. If it were, about half of out eBay threads would disappear.
Nah, just let it roll off your back, it was just talking and nothing truly directed at you. At least that's the way I read it.
I agree with everyone else. I almost found the thread a compliment of you with a negative to the site.
I appologize to everyone. I just put alot of time into the store and to have it lumped into into the spam catagory kinda made me angry. No hard feelings
LOL... Come on guy, this is a forum. Everything and anything is expected. Don't take it to heart brother and move on.... We all have one thing in common and that is that we all collect or like coins. Other than this, ignorance is for people who have nothing better to do. Man, if I got upset at every time non-toned coin collectors called my coins crud, rust etc.... it would be like a online world war I in this place. :eating:
I would consider this post/thread SPAM and in poor taste...Links to links to your own auction IS spam. It looks like you took it in the seat on your Lincoln penny collection.
Where is the links to my auctions? I currently have no auctions running. besides I already appologized and forgave. It is everyone else that is keeping this thread going.
I read your ad in the advertising section and thought it was appropriate IMO, others have links to their stores or sites so i don't guess i understand what is spam and what isn't(well I know that stuff in the can that taste like stuff in a can is spam but I am unsure of the ad being spam). Anyways I know you to be an honest dealer/hobbiest you have always been fair with me just as others on this site I have purchased from either privately or on Ebay. Keep up the good work and fair treatment of customers and you will do fine. Thanks Kent
Trust me, I put a lot of time into my Ebay listings, but if we take it personally each time someone insults our auction site we'll end up going the way of Sylvia Plath.
Sweetz pal! It's your ole eBid buddy Poppa501! Don't sweat the small stuff. We know where the best auction site is, don't we. Been watchin your posts and I think you're doing a great job. See you on the "Kitchen Table"
And that is the important thing he needs to keep in mind. Just ignore those that do not like ebid(not even sure what it is) or ebay. I do keep watch on his auctions also.
I didn't read what was said about you or your web site. However, remember that the more you bring it up, whatever it was, the more people will read it, wonder what is going on, who said what, etc. Possibly more will misunderstand. When your dealing with possibly many, many people, there will always be some goods and some bads with their comments and/or replys. Just best to ignor what you don't like or those Ulcer things will take over.
