Nor I. When I found that auction 3 hours ago it was at .99 with no bids and now look how quickly it jumped. It's beyond me.

    I understand 2009
But 2010? They could be wanted if theyre extremely low mintage but I dont see that happening IMO.
The 2009 will be collectable especially LP4 in future years.
I ahve yet to see one but had my bank order me a box that should ocme in next week. I might try to exploit this price gap.

I posted something about this a few hours ago. The link I posted (was from the same seller) sold for 40 something dollars, its plain nuts.

Yeah, the first 5 went for 49 bucks.....and again, it is from Puerto Rico.

Nuts. I just wish I could find rolls while the idiots still have their checkbooks open....

I think longterm 2009 LP4 will hold prices better.

I think people are treating this like the 1909 cent and expect it to be a key date because it's the first year. I was'nt alive in 1959 and am assuming people hoarded that issue too because of it being the first year. Either way, 2009 coins mainly the LP4 and potentially the Nickels, Dimes and Quarters will hold a better value. IMO

    Wow, this is ridiculous.

If only there was any truth to that statement.
If you can't find 2009's you won't see 2010 for a long time. If you do, sell them fast.

Everyone wants to be the big man at the coin club and be the first to have the new issues. Bragging rights is often worth a couple dollars a roll. For some people, that's all they have.

    hey, wait a minute . . . !

Weren't the first 2009 nickels and dimes found in PR, too? Or am I remembering wrong?

Why would they debut in Puerto Rico? Nothing against PR, of course. But....at least a little closer to the mint? I remember one time I was in Columbus, Ohio at a bar just a mile from the brewery, and the Bud Light that I was drinking had a NJ stamp on it. Thought that was strange as well. Anyway, that's what this reminded me of.

I found the first 2009 dimes south of Houston. Then the first nickels were found in Puerto Rico.

I Still believe LP4 will carry more demand in the long run.
With a mintage of 327,000,000 thats half of any other 2009 cent design. Plus I havent gotten one as change yet. So circulation is limited as is its release numbers.
    Hoard the LP4
